Support / Billing
Billing and cancellation.
What you pay, what the credit covers, and what happens when you change plan, run out or cancel.
Plans & paying
What does Brackits cost?
Plans start at $49 a month, VAT included, billed monthly in US dollars with no annual contract. Every plan carries the whole product; they differ in how many people and teams they cover and how much AI credit comes with them. See pricing for each plan.
Do I need a card to sign up?
No. Creating an account charges nothing. A new account's team opens on the Subscribe page, where its owner or an admin picks a plan and pays on Stripe's checkout. The first month is charged there, and the credit arrives a few seconds later, once Stripe confirms the payment. If you have a promotion code, enter it at checkout.
Only a team's owner and its admins can manage billing. Anyone else is told who to ask.
Is VAT included?
Yes. Every price includes VAT. Stripe's checkout asks for your billing address and, if your business has one, your VAT number, and Stripe works out the tax on each invoice from them.
Where are my invoices?
On your billing page, which lists each paid invoice with a link to Stripe's copy of it. Manage billing opens Stripe's billing portal, where you update your card and billing address. Card details are entered on Stripe's pages and never reach our servers.
Credit
What is credit?
The AI work, designing a new section and asking for changes, is paid for from credit. Each plan comes with a month of it, at least as much as the plan costs: $49 a month comes with $49 of credit, $200 with $240 and $500 with $625.
A run is charged from what the AI model actually cost to answer it, so a small change costs less than a large one. On average a design run uses about $1.50.
What doesn't use credit?
Anything that doesn't call an AI model: editing a design yourself, publishing and hosting it, the blog, forms and data tables. Designing from Claude or another MCP client uses none either, because your assistant does the generating.
Three AI actions are free too: importing your brand from your site, starting a project from your site's address, and rewriting a line of copy. Free still needs a plan or complimentary credit on the team.
Am I charged when a run fails?
No. When the AI errors or times out, that call is not charged. A run that answers a question instead of changing the design still did the work, and is charged like any other.
What happens when credit runs out?
New runs stop, and nothing is charged to your card. A run that had already started finishes, and whatever it went over by comes out of your next credit: next month's, or a top-up if you buy one first. The team owner gets an email when credit runs low and again when it runs out.
Can I cap what one design spends?
Yes. Set an AI budget cap on the item, and its runs stop once they have spent that much.
Does unused credit roll over?
Plan credit doesn't: each month's credit expires when the month it was paid for ends. Credit is spent in order, plan credit first, then complimentary credit, then top-ups, so what you bought separately lasts longest.
Your billing page shows what's left, when each part expires, what you've spent this period and what it was spent on.
How do top-ups work?
Top-ups are fixed blocks of credit you buy from your billing page, at face value: a block buys that much credit. Top-up credit lasts 12 months and is spent after your plan credit. Nothing tops up on its own.
A top-up needs an active plan, both to buy and to spend. If your plan ends, unspent top-up credit waits, and you can spend it again if you subscribe before it expires.
What is complimentary credit?
Credit we give a team without charge, for example to people who were using Brackits before there were plans. It works without a plan, has an expiry date shown on your billing page, and is spent after plan credit and before top-ups. Once it is used up, AI runs pause until the team has a plan, and your projects, editing and exports stay open. Once it has expired, the team needs a plan to carry on.
It can also pay for the other teams the same owner has, the way a plan does. Once it expires, each of those teams needs a plan.
Teams & people
Who counts as a person on my plan?
Everyone with a sign-in on any team your plan covers, whatever their role, counted once however many of those teams they are in. Invitations waiting to be accepted count too. Visitors to your site and learners on your courses don't.
At your plan's limit you can't invite anyone new until you upgrade or someone leaves. Nobody already on a team is removed.
How does one plan cover several teams?
The team that buys the plan pays for it, and the plan covers the other teams its owner owns, up to the number of teams it includes. Every covered team spends the same pool of credit, and changing plan or buying a top-up happens on the team that pays. A team you create while working in one of those teams joins the plan.
Complimentary credit works the same way: while a team holds live complimentary credit, the other teams attached to it spend that credit, with no team or people limit, until it expires. Once that team subscribes, its plan's team and people limits apply, and the complimentary credit is spent after the plan's.
What if we have more teams than the plan includes?
Teams are counted oldest first. Any past the limit open on a page asking for an upgrade, until the plan covers them or another team is deleted, and you can't create a new team on a plan that is full. Nothing in them is deleted.
Changing & cancelling
Can I change plan?
Yes, from the billing page of the team that pays. Moving up takes effect at once: Stripe charges the difference for the rest of the month, and your credit goes up by the difference between the two plans.
Moving down isn't prorated or refunded. You pay the lower price from your next renewal, and the credit you already have stays until it expires. The smaller plan's limits on people and teams apply as soon as you move.
While a payment is outstanding, settle it before changing plan.
How long does the $49 launch price last?
$49 a month instead of $79 is locked for as long as you stay on that plan. It stays open to new accounts until we announce a closing date.
How do I cancel?
From your billing page. The plan runs to the end of the period you have paid for and doesn't renew. Until then everything works as before, and you can resume the plan if you change your mind.
What happens when my plan ends?
Nothing is deleted, and what is already on your site keeps working: published designs, your blog and your forms. The month's plan credit ends with the month.
In Brackits, the team opens on the Subscribe page until it has a plan again. Settings, the team switcher and your other teams stay reachable. Claude and other MCP clients can still read your work, but can't make or change anything.
Your blog and data tables stay exportable after the plan ends. The Subscribe page lists the blog export and each data-table CSV for anyone who can edit the project, so there is nothing to rush out before the last day.
What if a payment fails?
The team's runs pause, and it opens on a page asking its owner or an admin to update the card in Stripe's billing portal. Nothing is deleted, and the team is back in once the payment goes through.
What happens if I delete a team that pays for a plan?
Its plan is cancelled straight away, and any teams it covered go back to paying for themselves.
Can I take my work with me?
Yes. The whole blog exports as one JSON file from its Import & export page, and each data table exports as a CSV. While a team is held on the Subscribe page, waiting for a plan, a payment or an upgrade, both downloads are listed there too. A design is ordinary HTML and CSS: the SEO snapshot copies one out ready to host yourself, and an MCP client can read its source.
What happens to your content when an account closes is in section 13 of our terms.
