Eight kinds of activity, from knowledge checks to flashcards, built on your brand and placed in a Thinkific lesson. In a Text lesson the activity holds back the lesson's Complete & continue button until the learner has finished it.
The activities
Eight starting points.
Pick one, give it your questions or your content, and the design agent builds it on your brand guideline. Change the wording, the look or the number of steps the way you would any other design.
Knowledge check
Multiple-choice questions, one at a time, with a score, a pass mark and a retry.
Fill in the blanks
Sentences with missing words the learner types in. Case is ignored, and you can accept alternative spellings.
Put in order
The learner arranges items into sequence with move controls rather than dragging, so it works on a keyboard and a phone.
Match the pairs
The learner pairs each term with its definition by clicking.
Mark the words
The learner picks out the words in a passage that fit a rule, then checks the set.
Flashcards
Cards the learner flips, then marks as known or to review. No pass mark: finishing is the goal.
Step-through
A walkthrough the learner moves through one step at a time, confirming each.
Find the hotspot
The learner finds the right region on a labelled diagram.
How completion works
Only the learner can finish the lesson.
Place an activity in a Text lesson and it hides Thinkific's Complete & continue button while the learner works. When they click the activity's last button, it brings Complete & continue back and presses it for them. Thinkific's own lesson progress and certificates carry on as normal from there.
Only a learner's click counts.
A lesson is completed only by the learner pressing a button. Nothing completes it on a timer, on a scroll, or because the page loaded.
A wrong answer is never a dead end.
Every activity can be retried, so a learner who misses the pass mark tries again rather than getting stuck in the lesson.
A guardrail, not a lock.
It hides a button; it doesn't lock the course. A learner can still move on from the lesson list, and if an activity breaks, the button comes back rather than trapping anyone. By default it also returns on its own after fifteen minutes.
Placing it
Paste it into a Text lesson.
Publish the activity, then paste its placeholder into a Text lesson's source view. The loader your Thinkific connection installs fills it in, inside the course player, on your brand.
A Multimedia lesson can show the same activity from its shareable address, but can't hold the button back, and neither can a WordPress page or any other site. The activity works the same way there; it just doesn't gate anything.

Answers and progress
It stays in the learner's browser.
An activity remembers a learner's answers and progress in their own browser, so they can pick up where they left off on that device. Nothing is sent to Brackits or reported to Thinkific: there is no gradebook and no score report.
That makes these practice, not exams. Use them to make a lesson something the learner does, not to certify what they know.
Questions
Which Thinkific lessons can an activity gate?
Text lessons. Paste the activity's placeholder into the lesson's source view and it can hold back Complete & continue. In a Multimedia lesson the activity shows and works, but can't hold the button.
Can a learner skip the activity?
They can move on from the lesson list, as in any Thinkific course. What the activity changes is the Complete & continue button: it stays hidden until they finish, and their click on the activity's last button is what presses it.
Do I see my learners' answers or scores?
No. Answers and progress stay in the learner's browser, and nothing is reported to Brackits or to Thinkific.
How do I try an activity before learners see it?
The preview in Brackits shows the activity, but not its hold on the Complete button, which only exists inside Thinkific's course player. To see that, place it in a Text lesson and open the lesson on your site.
Does it cost extra?
No. Interactive lessons are on every plan, alongside the page designs, the blog and the widgets.
